Silent-Screen, Vamp: Dorothy Revier! Revier was a temptatious blonde,who specialized in playing, femme fatales. Nicknamed, “The Queen of Poverty Row”, Dorothy never hit super-stardom, in the silent era. She came close though, starring in, Douglas Fairbanks Sr’s “The Iron Mask”. A lot of moxie was packed into her petite, 5’4″ and 125lbs, frame! When she retired from motion pictures, Dorothy turned to writing & painting. After 3 unsuccessful marriages, Revier met William Peyalo, a successful, commercial artist. Dorothy Revier lived and died in Hollywood. A lone inscription is all that is on her Hollywood Hills cemetary, marker. It reads: “Beloved Actress”.
